Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) in partnership with Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH) are investing up to $50,000 in the implementation of a project or projects to kick start the Blacktown Energy Initiative (BEI). BEI aims to increase energy and resource efficiency in the Blacktown and surrounding areas through developing a shared local vision and establishing and/or strengthening partnerships between local business and community networks. Western Sydney Community Forum is a member of the Greater Sydney Commission’s (GSC) Independent Social Reference Panel. Participation on the Panel has enabled us to work with the Social Commissioner, Heather Nesbitt, and the GSC to articulate the most important social and urban issues for the future of Western Sydney. A key priority for the GSC is to develop District Plans for each Greater Sydney District.  The District Plans are about connecting local planning with longer-term regional planning and to better coordinate State and local government planning.
