Webinar: Mental Health Awareness & the Older Person Webinar Series

This webinar series explores mental health issues and impacts in older people, such as stress and anxiety, challenging behaviours, confusion and memory loss, trauma, grief, loss, and aggressive behaviours. These webinars will provide information, discuss the impact on the older person’s sense of self and quality of life, and suggest practical tools to support the older person.

Short-term Care in Home Care (Restorative Care)

When: 16 August 2023, 1.00pm – 4.00pm (NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS and ACT)

Where: Online

How much: $397 incl. GST

This course will assist providers with the skills to be able to incorporate wellness, reablement and restorative care into assessment and care planning processes. This course will help explain the key principles of wellness, reablement and restorative care, develop qualitative and quantitative outcome measures, and embed a culture of wellness and reablement in policies and practices. Statements of Attendance will be given to participants who complete the course, as well as counting the hours towards Continuing Professional Development hours. Participants will also be given a downloadable workbook, tools and resources.

Workshop: Personal and Family Safety Multicultural Workshop for Leaders

When: 5 September 2023 (Blacktown), 20 September 2023 (Parramatta), 9.45am-1.15pm

How much: Free

Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association (MDAA) has two workshops available for community leaders to learn more about personal and family safety within multicultural communities. Facilitators will provide information on risks and harms experienced by people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and individual and community action that can be done to mitigate these. The workshops will be held in Blacktown and Parramatta; spots are limited so booking is essential.

Café Connect Wollondilly 2023 Workshops

Café Connect is an interactive hub with a number of workshops and activities for over 55s to connect and promote a safe and healthy lifestyle.
