Workshop: Responding To Racism in Aged Care

This online workshop, hosted by Settlement Services International (SSI), will assist participants in identifying, understanding and responding to cultural conflict in the context of aged care. The workshop is available as part of the NSW/ACT Home Care Workforce Support Program.
Workshop: Defensible Documentation

National Disability Servies (NDS) has developed this training in partnership with Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI) for the purpose of improving and simplifying the documentation of participants, as well as teaching them how to professionally document with confidence and demonstrate compliance with funding and NDIS requirements. By the end of the course, participants will be able to accurately document their support in a legally defensible manner, which will help improve outcomes for their clients.
2024 Seniors Festival Expo

This free expo is to celebrate NSW Seniors Festival (previously Seniors Week). Activities include entertainment, presentations, information stalls, as well as sample classes to improve wellbeing. Free parking is available on-site.
Seniors Festival – Garden Party

2024 Penrith Seniors Festival

Penrith’s Seniors Festival Program is now available, with a range of events and activities throughout the 13 days of celebrations. Events include seniors comedy gala, craft card making, learn to knit and crochet, healthy eating, movie screening, pelvic floor workshop, and more.
My Future, My Choice South West Disability Expo
When: 22 and 23 March 2024, 9.00am-3.00pm
Where: Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool

This expo is available to all people, and will include a variety of products and services to assist people with advocacy, equipment, education and training, social and leisure options, transport, allied health, and support services. There will also be presentations delivered by experts in the industry, inclusive entertainment and food.
Online Workshops for Approved Aged Care Providers

These online workshops are designed for workers in both home care and residential services. These workshops will increase participants’ understanding of both the Aged Care Quality Standards (the Quality Standards) and the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS), and will develop skills in Incident Management Systems (IMS), and risk management.
Interactive Webinar Series: Cultural Diversity in Ageing

There are four remaining sessions in the 2023-24 Interactive Webinar Series hosted by the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing. These sessions include information on supporting culturally and linguistically diverse older women at risk of homelessness, helping seniors from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to access and navigate aged care services, guidance on how to develop and deliver culturally inclusive social support activities, and overcoming social isolation among culturally diverse seniors. These webinars are designed for all staff working in aged care.
