Western Sydney Community Forum and the Whitlam Institute within the Western Sydney University are proud to co-host the launch of Planning, Funding, and Community Action: The Area Assistance Story, a new book written by Judi Bamforth, Barbara Gapps, Robin Gurr, Amanda Howard, Jenny Onyx, and Margot Rawsthorne. The event will include a panel discussion and official launch, followed by light refreshments, with the option of attending a facilitated workshop.
The Panel Discussion will be chaired by co author Robin Gurr with Margot Rawsthorne, Christine Sykes, Jill Herberte and Warren Gardiner. The Hon Linda Burney (Member for Barton and Shadow Minister for Human Services) will launch the book.
Authors of the new book will facilitate a workshop and consider “What is possible when community participation is at the centre of planning and funding decisions, and what are the processes required to encourage this kind of participation?
