The Generation Community program has had an outstanding effect on young leaders who had partaken in it. Western Sydney Community Forum is serious about service delivery and contributes by organising courses which help leaders of our community facilitate a better understanding of their visions.
Milad Jonaidi, the Service Operations Manager at Great Community Transport had undergone the Generation CommunitY program and says that he initially took part to see what is expected of an effective leader and to develop skills which will help him facilitate change.
“Managing change is very important to me. The community transport sector is the fastest moving sector…. With that change, there usually is people affected and I wanted to improve my ability to facilitate change” – Milad Jonaidi
Jonaidi wished to develop his skills to be a more adaptive leader rather than despising the changes. Jonaidi is a leader that embraces change and believes that change is good and healthy for the sector. “It is good [change] and healthy for the sector and it forces organisations to move forward and be more efficient”.
When asked how this course has helped him, Jonaidi says that it has given him a better understanding of his purpose and he believes that he has the means to encourage others to engage more.
“Whether you’re a young leader or established leader I think you are bound to learn something new from it” – Milad Jonaidi
