Older Persons Advocacy Network’s (OPAN) Planning for Diversity Workshop Series

This series is available to all aged care providers, and aimed at the person in your organisation who is responsible for quality improvement, service planning and/or compliance. This series provides workers with tools and information for catering to older people from diverse and marginalised groups. It is in response to recommendation 30 of the Royal Commission into Aged Care, which recommended designing for diversity, difference, complexity and individuality. Workshops will assist aged care providers in identifying and addressing barriers, and demonstrating their commitment to working towards Aged Care Quality Standards and the Charter of Aged Care Rights. Upcoming workshops in Western Sydney include the locations of Blue Mountains, Liverpool, Bella Vista, and Blacktown. Participants will receive workbooks, diversity resources, and a certificate of completion.

EXTENDED – WSCF Community Care News Digest Feedback Survey

WSCF is conducting a survey on our very own Community Care News Digest. The News Digest is primarily focused on disseminating information about aged care and older people. In saying that, it also shares information that is useful to people working with people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, LGBTIQA+ communities, and other areas that may intersect with aged care and the older population. We would love to know how you use the News Digest, whether the information distributed has been valuable for your work, and if there is anything else you would like to see added to the Digest. The survey will remain open until 18 August 2023.
