TERMS
& CONDITIONS

1. Nomination Eligibility

• Nominees must be operating or based in greater Western Sydney regardless of funding or status
• The following LGAs have been recognised as areas of greater Western Sydney

1.1. Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith, The Hills and Wollondilly

• Nominees cannot self-nominate for individual categories which are as follows:

1.2. Outstanding Community Sector Leader, Outstanding Volunteer Community Leader, Outstanding Youth Leader (12- 25), Western Sydney Unsung Heroes and Hall of Fame.

• Referees must be independent and not employed, volunteer or be a member of the organisation’s management committee
• Sponsor organisations, services or businesses are ineligible for nominating for the category they are sponsoring
• Winners of previous ZEST Awards are ineligible for nominations within the same category, these includes individuals, groups, organisations, businesses and projects
• Nominations for Voluntary categories cannot include any paid work components as part of the nomination
• Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) staff, board members and contractors are ineligible for individual nomination, any projects with WSCF involvement in are ineligible

1.3. Upon departure from their position with WSCF staff, board members and contractors are ineligible for nomination for a twelve-month period

2. Conditions of Nomination

• Nominations must be submitted online at www.wscf.org.au using the specified form
• Additional attachments outside of the nomination form will not be considered for judging
• A nomination must include the following

2.1. Name, address, email address and phone numbers of nominator

2.2. Name, address, email address and phone numbers of nominee (a contact person must be identified for groups or projects nominated)

2.3. Nomination entries must be in line with the word count, as detailed on the nomination form. Nominations exceeding the word limit will not be taken into consideration.

• A maximum of 500 words can be used to respond to all response areas, nominations exceeding the word limit will not be taken into consideration
• Nominators must ensure responses meet the required fields and grammar and spell checking has been completed
• Once submitted, nominations become the property of the ZEST Awards and may be re-allocated to an alternative category

3. Nomination and Judging Process

• The nomination period commences Tuesday 28th of March 2022 and closes Friday 5th of May 2022.
• Extensions must be requested in writing and submitted via email to [email protected]
• The judging panel consists of five members:

3.1. consists of three independent judges

3.2. All members of the judging panel have extensive understanding of Western Sydney’s context and demography, additionally judges will have knowledge on the Human Services Industry and community sector knowledge experience

3.3. WSCF staff, board members and contractors are ineligible for the judging panel

• Conflicts of Interest will be identified by individual judges, the individual judge(s) will recuse themselves from the category
• Sponsors on the judging panel must recuse themselves from the category they sponsor (Western Sydney University will judge the Western Sydney Unsung Heroes category independently)
• Comments and scores are de-identified and held for a three-year period
• Nominations are assessed on the merits of the Information provided for each nomination utilising a scoring matrix for each key point. The five nominations with the highest scores will be deemed as finalists in each category and the one(s) with the highest score will be announced at the 2022 ZEST Awards Ceremony.
