Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Care News Digest! In this issue, you will find a range of updates, resources, and upcoming events to keep you up to date with the aged and community care sector across the Western Sydney region.
In the spirit of Mental Health Month, it is a good reminder that the Head to Health centres (gradually being renamed as Medicare Mental Health Centres) can be found across Western Sydney and are a calm, safe and welcoming place for people seeking help.
Residential aged care pricing advice for the period of 2024–25 is now available, and feedback is needed for the Support at Home service list 2025–26 pricing advice.
A number of publications have been released, including the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care program manual, the schedule of subsidies and supplements for aged care, and CHSP wellness and reablement reports.
A lot has been happening recently in the reform space. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s Regulatory Strategy for 2024–25 has been released, and the Department has now finalised the Support at Home Program. The Aged Care Bill 2024 was introduced on 12 September 2024, and pending passage of legislation, it will result in the new Aged Care Act 2025.
