Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Care News Digest for 2023. In this edition, we will bring you the most recent updates, information, resources, and events from across the region.Â
The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) transition into new funding model has been extended until 30 June 2025. This extension ensures continued support for aged care services at home and gives more time to providers to prepare for the changes. Also, the Department will begin the recovery of unspent funds from 2021-22. Providers are advised to review the details carefully to ensure compliance with the funding guidelines. The Government Provider Management System (GPMS) will go live in July, replacing the current reporting function within the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal. Home Care providers will also gain access to GPMS. Refer to the provided links for more information and assistance. Read more about it in this edition. Â
In other news, we are thrilled to share that Blair Comley has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Department of Health and Aged Care. Mr. Comley, currently a director and partner at EY Port Jackson Partners, will assume his new role on 17 July 2023, succeeding Professor Brendan Murphy.
